I don’t think I’ve ever gone this long without blogging! So sorry everyone! I have some exciting news though (for those of you who don’t already know) which will explain my absence here in blog land. We are adopting! We made the decision several months ago that it was time. Adoption is something we have always known we would eventually do. I’ll tell you the short version of where we are in the process. After much prayer we decided to adopt a foster child/children so we are going through CPS. We have finished all of the required paperwork and classes, are licensed, and are now just waiting to be matched. We don’t care about race, sex, etc and we are willing to take children from birth to 6 years. Yes, you read that right…children. We are open to sibling groups. We are beyond excited to see who God has for our family!

So that’s where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to lately. Oh and I have been shooting like a mad woman as well! I have so many sessions to blog it’s unreal. I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to get caught up. I have sessions from like April I think that haven’t been blogged….not to mention every wedding I’ve shot this year. Fingers crossed that I can become a more consistent blogger again! Here’s just a little peek at some of the sessions I’ve done over the past several months that haven’t made it on the blog yet.

Amarillo Engagement Photographer | Ethan + Brooke

Ethan and Brooke were married this past Saturday in a sweet ceremony at Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo. After being together since the 8th grade, this was a day everyone was happy to see had finally come. I remember photographing Brooke her Senior year of High School…Ethan was there and even jumped in for a few photos. It has been wonderful to see their love grow over these last few years. I find it rare for couples these days to find each other at such a young age. My husband and I have been together since right before I turned 16…that’s 13 years! We will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary this May!! I want to hear from you guys. How long have you & your husband/wife been together??

Now, you may want to grab a cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea because there are a lot of images in this post! Haha. I hope you’ll enjoy these photos from Brooke & Ethan’s engagement session in Canadian. We shot these on a beautiful fall day right when the leaves were changing. We shot part two of Eric & Krissie’s engagement session in Amarillo. These are by far my favorite engagement images ever! And let me tell you it was not easy getting that piano out into a field. Thanks a million to my sweet husband and our friend, Thomas, for wrestling that thing out there. Haha! It was quite the adventure but so worth it. I hope you enjoy looking at these images as much as I did creating them!

Ft. Worth Engagement Photographer | Eric+Krissie Part One

Eric & Krissie’s engagement session was shot in two parts. The first half we shot in Ft. Worth where Krissie & Eric are currently attending SW Seminary. I shoot in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area a lot but this was by far my favorite engagement session to ever shoot there. The day was gorgeous and, thanks to my sweet sister Sarah Jane, we were able to spot some really fabulous places to shoot. I love how their pictures turned out! It totally helps that they aren’t just a super cute couple but are so obviously in love, too. Here are some of my favorites from the first half of their session. I will show you the second half, which we shot in Amarillo, tomorrow. I can not wait to show you the 2nd half! Piano in a field…need I say more?!?

Oh December, why must you be here already? 2010 just completely flew by and I just can’t believe it is almost over! What a crazy year it has been. I have been blessed beyond belief with more business that I ended up being able to handle by myself, haha. God has indeed been good to me and I praise Him for his unending love. In all of the craziness of this year, believe it or not, I actually had some time to step back and look at my life. To really look deep into my heart of hearts and ask a question that I have been avoiding for some time…or maybe I’ve just been to busy to face it. Wait, no, I’ve been using the busyness of my life to avoid it for sure. What question did I ask?

My sweet Yeshua, where am I supposed to be and what am I supposed to be doing? Where/how can I serve you better, Lord? What will make you say, “Well done good and faithful servant”?

Now, you may be wondering why in the world I would be avoiding asking this question. Seems like something I should be asking on a daily basis, right? The reason is simple…I knew what His answer would be. I knew deep in my soul that He wanted me to be doing something different. That I was not living my life to glorify my awesome God…that I have not been using the gifts He has given me for His glory. After much soul searching, many mornings spent on my face before the Lord, and a few stupid inner power struggles (haha) I have made some difficult (yet freeing) decisions. The hardest of course relates to my business. Lezlie Andrew Photography has been my passion for some time now. We have had a love/hate relationship over the years but overall it has been an immense blessing. I will not be revealing any changes until after the first of the year but I will tell you that the landscape of Lezlie Andrew Photography is changing. The coming changes are exciting though! 2011 is going to be a wonderful year!!

While you wait on the news over the next few weeks I will try to blog some lovely photographs everyday to keep you satisfied. Here are a couple of favorites, a sneak peek if you will, from Brooke & Ethan’s engagement session.

Love this couple…I mean absolutely LOVE them!!! We had so much fun on the two days we shot their engagements. I’m super stoked for their wedding next month. Here are some of my favorites from their session. Enjoy!

(P.S. Brian could really use everyone’s prayers right now. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2008. He has had 6 surgeries, 6 weeks of radiation, 7 months of chemo, and 1 biopsy. I think it was like the week before our session that he started chemo again for another tumor that was found earlier this summer.
